NAMI Monterey County offers a wide variety of FREE educational programs and support groups to support those who work, live, or care for someone with a mental illness.

Educational Classes for Family Members
NAMI Family-to-Family is a FREE 6-12 week class for families, partners and friends of individuals with mental illness. The course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental illness, increase coping skills and empower participants to become advocates for their family members. This program was designated as an evidence-based program by SAMHSA. The course is also available in Spanish, De Familia a Familia de NAMI.
NAMI Familia-a-Familia es un programa educativo,GRATIS, de 12 sesiones para familiares, parejas, amigos, y seres queridos de adultos que viven con una enfermedad mental. El curso esta diseñado para ayudar a toda la familia a entender y apoyar a seres queridos que viven con un trastorno mental, sin descuidar el propio bienestar del círculo familiar.
NAMI Homefront is a class for families, partners and friends of military service members and veterans experiencing a mental health challenge. The course is designed specifically to help these families understand those challenges and improve the ability of participants to support their service member or veteran.
Educational Classes for Individuals affected by Mental Illness
NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a FREE 10 week recovery education course open to anyone personally experiencing a mental health challenge (bipolar, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, etc). The course is designed to encourage growth, healing and recovery among participants. This program is also available in Spanish, De Persona a Persona de NAMI.
El programa De Persona a Persona de NAMI es un curso gratuito compuesto de 10 sesiones para adultos que viven con los retos de una enfermedad mental (depresión, esquizofrenia, bipolar, ansiedad, etc). De Persona a Persona de NAMI ofrece un entorno educativo que se centra en la recuperación brindando respeto, comprensión, motivación y esperanza.
Training for Community Professionals
NAMI Provider Education
NAMI Provider Education is a FREE 4 hour training for line staff at facilities providing mental health treatment services OR work sites that serve/interact with individuals affected by mental illness. The NAMI Provider Education training is designed to expand the participants’ compassion for the individuals and their families and to promote a collaborative model of care.
NAMI Connection is a support group for people living with a mental health condition.
NAMI Family Support Group
NAMI Family Support Group is a support group for family members, partners and friends of individuals living with a mental illness.
